PI 4-kinase II α Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PI 4-kinase II alpha protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PI 4-kinase II α (B-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PI 4-kinase II alpha protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by phosphorylating phosphatidylinositol to produce phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate (PI4P), which is a precursor for the synthesis of phosphatidylinositol bisphosphate (PIP2). PIP2 is essential for the activation of various cellular effectors, including ion channels and phospholipase C, thereby influencing processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and membrane trafficking. PI 4-kinase II alpha activity is particularly important in tissues with high metabolic demands, such as the heart and brain, where PI 4-kinase II alpha contributes to the regulation of signaling pathways that control cellular responses to external stimuli.
