SEE ALSO...

Phostensin Antibody (H-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects phostensin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-phostensin antibody (H-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Phostensin, also known as KIAA1949, is a 613 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by acting as a regulatory subunit for protein phosphatase 1 (PP1), which is essential for the dephosphorylation of serine and threonine residues on target proteins. This dephosphorylation process is vital for regulating numerous cellular functions, including cell division, homeostasis, and apoptosis. The interaction of phostensin with PP1 specifically targets this phosphatase to F-Actin within the cytoskeleton, thereby influencing cytoskeletal dynamics and cellular morphology. Phostensin is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the spleen, ovary, lung, and liver, and its two isoforms arise from alternative splicing events, which may contribute to its functional diversity in various cellular contexts.
