Phocein Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Phocein protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Phocein (D-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Phocein, also known as preimplantation protein 3 or Mps1 binder kinase activator-like 3, is a 225 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene MOBKL3 and belongs to the MOB1/phocein family. Phocein is primarily located in the cytosol and associates with cellular membranes, where Phocein plays a crucial role in vesicular trafficking, particularly in the endocytic process. Phocein′s structure includes a putative SH3-binding domain and limited homology to sigma subunits from clathrin adaptor complexes, which is significant for protein interactions. Notably, Phocein is a major partner of the striatin family members, which are scaffolding proteins involved in signaling and trafficking pathways. Phocein′s phosphorylation on serine residues and interactions with dynamin through nucleotide diphosphate kinase (NDPK) and Eps15 further underscore Phocein′s importance in cellular processes. anti-Phocein antibody (D-5) versatility in various applications makes this reagent an essential tool for researchers studying the dynamics of cellular signaling and trafficking mechanisms.
