PHF21A Antibody (F-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PHF21A of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PHF21A antibody (F-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PHF21A, also known as PHD finger protein 21A or BRAF35-HDAC complex protein BHC80, is a crucial nuclear protein composed of 680 amino acids that plays a significant role in transcriptional regulation. PHF21A features a PHD-type zinc finger and an A.T hook DNA-binding domain, indicating involvement in modulating gene expression. PHF21A is a key component of the BHC complex, which is essential for repressing neuron-specific gene transcription in non-neuronal cells, thereby acting as a chromatin modifier that deacetylates and demethylates specific histone sites. This regulatory function is vital for maintaining cellular identity and preventing inappropriate gene expression. Predominantly expressed in the brain, PHF21A exists in three isoforms due to alternative splicing, highlighting complex regulatory roles in different cellular contexts.
