SEE ALSO...

PGRP-L Antibody (B-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PGRP-L of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PGRP-L antibody (B-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Peptidoglycan recognition protein-L (PGRP-L) is a crucial pattern recognition molecule composed of 576 amino acids, making PGRP-L the longest and most widely expressed member of the PGRP family. PGRP-L plays a significant role in innate immune response by recognizing and binding to peptidoglycan, a component of bacterial cell walls, which is essential for immune system detection and response to bacterial infections. PGRP-L exhibits N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanine-amidase activity, allowing peptidoglycan digestion, and can form homodimers as well as dimerize with other PGRP proteins. While primarily a secreted serum protein, PGRP-L is also expressed as a transmembrane protein in liver parenchymal cells, further enhancing immune surveillance. PGRP-L deficient mice show slightly reduced levels of interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha, indicating a potential but minor role in innate immune functions. PGRP-L may be instrumental in activating Nod1, an intracellular pattern recognition receptor, highlighting PGRP-L′s importance in broader immune signaling pathways.

Can PGRP-L (B-4): sc-166646 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, PGRP-L (B-4): sc-166646 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
