SEE ALSO...

PGM 1 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PGM 1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGM 1 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PGM 1, a member of the phosphohexose mutase family, plays a crucial role in carbohydrate metabolism, specifically in glycogen catabolism and synthesis. PGM 1 catalyzes the interconversion of glucose-1-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate, which is vital for energy production and regulation of glucose levels in the body. PGM 1′s activity is essential for maintaining metabolic homeostasis, particularly during periods of fasting or intense physical activity. PGM 1 is located in the cytoplasm, where PGM 1 can efficiently participate in metabolic pathways, ensuring that glucose is readily available for energy production when needed. PGM 1 exhibits significant polymorphism, with multiple variants arising from genetic mutations and recombination events, which can influence enzymatic activity and regulation. Understanding PGM 1′s functional dynamics is important for elucidating its role in metabolic disorders and potential therapeutic targets.
