PGK1/2 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects phosphoglycerate kinase 1/2 (PGK1/2) in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGK1/2 plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism as a glycolytic enzyme, catalyzing the transfer of a phosphoryl group from 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to adenosine diphosphate (ADP) to generate adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and 3-phosphoglycerate, which are vital for energy production in cells. PGK1/2 functions extend beyond glycolysis; PGK1 is secreted by tumor cells and acts as a disulfide reductase, facilitating angiogenesis by reducing disulfide bonds in proteins such as plasmin.
