PGE synthase Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PGE synthase in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGE synthase, also known as PIG12 and MGST1-L1, is a crucial enzyme within the MAPEG superfamily, which comprises membrane-associated proteins that play significant roles in eicosanoid and glutathione metabolism. Anti-PGE synthase antibody (B-6) recognizes protein predominantly expressed in seminal vesicles, deferent ducts, kidney, heart, and spleen, and expression can be induced by the proinflammatory cytokine IL-1β, highlighting involvement in inflammatory responses. Notably, PGE synthase is glutathione-dependent in enzymatic activity across various organs, which is essential for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate numerous physiological processes, including inflammation and pain. Furthermore, localization of human PGE synthase to chromosome 9q34 suggests potential implications in genetic studies related to diseases such as Alzheimer′s, where activity may influence disease progression. PGE synthase (B-6) antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the role of PGE synthase in health and disease.
