SEE ALSO...

PGE synthase Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PGE synthase of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PGE synthase antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Prostaglandin E Synthase (PGE synthase), also known as PIG12 and MGST1-L1, is a crucial enzyme within the MAPEG protein superfamily, which comprises membrane-associated proteins that play significant roles in eicosanoid and glutathione metabolism. PGE synthase localizes predominantly in membranes of seminal vesicles, deferent ducts, kidney, heart, and spleen, where PGE synthase facilitates the conversion of prostaglandin H2 to prostaglandin E2, a key mediator in inflammatory responses. Proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β can induce PGE synthase expression, highlighting PGE synthase′s role in inflammatory processes and potential implications in diseases like Alzheimer′s. Human PGE synthase is located on chromosome 9q34, and PGE synthase′s glutathione-dependent enzymatic activity underscores its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis and responding to oxidative stress.

I am using PGE synthase (A-3): sc-166308 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from no signal in decidual macrophagesI have not detect signal in human decidual macrophages by WB, and it maybe caused by low expression in these cells.
