PGE synthase 2 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PGE synthase 2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGE synthase 2 Antibody (A-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PGE synthase 2, also known as PTGES2, PGES2, microsomal prostaglandin E synthase 2 (mPGES-2), or GATE-binding factor-1 (GBF1), is a crucial enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of prostaglandin H2 to prostaglandin E2, a key mediator in inflammatory responses and various physiological processes. This 377 amino acid isomerase is synthesized as a single-pass membrane protein in the Golgi apparatus and is subsequently cleaved to produce a soluble form that is predominantly localized in the perinuclear region. PGE synthase 2 is overexpressed in colorectal cancer and exhibits high expression levels in tissues such as the liver, kidney, heart, and brain, where PGE synthase 2 may enhance the transcriptional activity of interferon-gamma. PGE synthase 2 features a glutaredoxin domain and a GST C-terminal domain, existing as a homodimer that interacts with proteins like EXOSC10 and C/EBP β, and binds dihydrolipoic acid as a cofactor, highlighting PGE synthase 2′s multifaceted role in cellular signaling and metabolism.
