    SEE ALSO...

Peroxin 5R Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Peroxin 5R in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Peroxin 5R (A-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Peroxin 5R, also known as PEX5-related protein or Peroxisome biogenesis factor 5-like, is a crucial component of peroxisome biogenesis, a process essential for the proper functioning of peroxisomes—organelles that play a vital role in lipid metabolism and the detoxification of hydrogen peroxide. This 626 amino acid protein is predominantly expressed in the brain, with additional expression in the testis and pancreas, and features five tetratricopeptide repeats that facilitate protein-protein interactions and the assembly of multiprotein complexes. Notably, Peroxin 5R interacts with Rab 8b, suggesting involvement in vesicular trafficking and neurotransmitter release, which are critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling. The presence of three isoforms of Peroxin 5R, generated through alternative splicing, allows for diverse functional roles in cellular processes, particularly in recognizing C-terminal peroxisome-targeting signals akin to those recognized by Peroxin-5.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-398580 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
