Perilipin Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Perilipin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Perilipin antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Perilipin, also known as lipid droplet-associated protein, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by localizing on the surface of intracellular lipid droplets within adipocytes. This localization allows Perilipin to protect lipid storage droplets until mobilization by hormone-sensitive lipase (HSL), thereby regulating adipocyte lipid metabolism. As a key modulator of lipolysis, Perilipin′s function is vital in maintaining energy homeostasis, and dysregulation has been associated with obesity, where elevated levels can lead to increased fat storage. Additionally, Perilipin undergoes post-translational modifications, particularly phosphorylation, which enhances sensitivity to HSL, thus playing a pivotal role in the lipolytic process.
