PECAM-1 Antibody (158-2B3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects human PECAM-1 by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-PECAM-1 antibody (158-2B3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PECAM-1, also known as CD31, is a crucial glycoprotein expressed on the surfaces of monocytes, neutrophils, platelets, and a subset of T cells, playing a significant role in mediating cell-cell adhesion and signaling during immune responses and inflammation. PECAM-1 is primarily located at the intercellular junctions of endothelial cells, where PECAM-1 facilitates the migration of leukocytes across the vascular endothelium, a process essential for immune surveillance and tissue repair. Understanding PECAM-1 localization and function is vital, as PECAM-1 dysregulation can contribute to various pathological conditions, including chronic inflammation and cancer metastasis. PECAM-1 interaction with other adhesion molecules, such as integrins, further underscores PECAM-1′s importance in maintaining vascular integrity and regulating immune cell trafficking.

Can PECAM-1 (158-2B3): sc-65260 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, PECAM-1 (158-2B3): sc-65260 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
