PDRG Antibody (C-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PDRG protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PDRG (C-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PDRG protein, also known as p53 and DNA damage regulated or C20orf126, is a 133 amino acid protein that is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and belongs to the prefoldin subunit beta family. PDRG protein plays a crucial role in chaperone-mediated protein folding, which is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing the accumulation of misfolded proteins that can lead to cellular stress and disease. PDRG protein is predominantly expressed in normal testicular tissue and is functionally induced by ultraviolet light, highlighting its importance in cellular responses to DNA damage. The gene encoding PDRG is located on human chromosome 20, a region that contains over 600 genes, some of which are implicated in various neurodegenerative diseases and syndromes, including Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Furthermore, chromosome 20 harbors genes that are significant for seminal production, suggesting potential avenues for male contraception research.
