PDLIM5 Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PDLIM5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PDLIM5 antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PDLIM5, also known as PDZ and LIM domain 5, L9, ENH (Enigma homolog), or ENH1, is a crucial member of the Enigma family of proteins, characterized by an N-terminal PDZ domain and one to three C-terminal LIM domains. These structural features enable PDLIM5 to interact with various isoforms of protein kinase C, playing a significant role in cellular signaling pathways. PDLIM5 is predominantly expressed in the brain, where PDLIM5 colocalizes with synaptic vesicles and is involved in regulating neuronal calcium signaling through interactions with PKC ε and the N-type calcium channel α1B subunit. This regulation is vital for neurotransmitter release and synaptic plasticity, processes that are essential for learning and memory. Alterations in PDLIM5 expression have been linked to neuropsychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, major depression, and bipolar disorder, indicating PDLIM5′s potential role in the genetic susceptibility to these conditions.

What blocking solution should I use with PDLIM5 (G-2): sc-515621 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
