SEE ALSO...

PDEF Antibody (G-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PDEF protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PDEF (G-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Prostate Epithelium-Specific Ets Transcription Factor (PDEF), also known as prostate Ets or SAM pointed domain containing Ets transcription factor, is a 335 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression within prostate epithelial cells. As a member of the Ets family of transcription factors, PDEF is primarily located in the nucleus, where PDEF is essential for modulating the transcriptional activity of genes involved in prostate development and function. Notably, PDEF upregulates the activity of the p62 promoter, although this activity can be inhibited by the proteasome inhibitor PSI. Additionally, PDEF acts as an androgen-independent transactivator of prostate-specific antigen (PSA), highlighting PDEF′s significance in prostate cancer biology and potential as a therapeutic target.

When should the TransCruz reagent sc-166846 X be used instead of the standard form sc-166846?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend using the TransCruz reagent form when performing ChIP or GelShift assays. This form can also be used in other applications such as Western Blot or IHC, but the dilution should be adjusted by a factor of 10 to account for the higher original concentration.
