PD-ECGF Antibody (PGF-44C) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PD-ECGF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PD-ECGF antibody (PGF-44C) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Platelet-derived endothelial cell growth factor (PD-ECGF), also known as thymidine phosphorylase or gliostatin, plays a crucial role in angiogenesis by stimulating endothelial cell proliferation and inducing chemotaxis, which is vital for tissue repair and regeneration. PD-ECGF is primarily located in platelets, placenta, foreskin fibroblasts, and various squamous cell carcinomas, where PD-ECGF is slowly secreted, highlighting its importance in both normal physiological processes and pathological conditions. Notably, PD-ECGF exists as a functional dimer composed of two polypeptide chains, and PD-ECGF overexpression has been linked to tumor progression and the pathophysiology of psoriasis, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic target. Additionally, PD-ECGF exhibits thymidine phosphorylase activity, catalyzing the reversible phosphorolysis of thymidine to thymine in an ATP-dependent manner, which underscores its multifaceted role in nucleotide metabolism and cellular signaling pathways.
