PCGF6 Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PCGF6 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PCGF6 Antibody (A-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PCGF6, also known as polycomb group ring finger 6, plays a crucial role in the regulation of gene expression, particularly in developmental processes and cell proliferation. PCGF6 is a 350 amino acid nuclear protein that is ubiquitously expressed and contains a RING-type zinc finger domain, which is essential for function as a transcriptional repressor. This domain allows PCGF6 to participate in the ubiquitination pathway, influencing protein degradation and thereby modulating the levels of histone modifications, such as histone H3 trimethylation at lysine 4 (H3K4Me3). PCGF6 regulates the activity of the SmcY histone demethylase, which is vital for maintaining proper gene expression patterns during development. PCGF6 exists in two alternatively spliced isoforms, further diversifying functional roles in cellular processes.
