PCDH8 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PCDH8 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PCDH8 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Protocadherins, a large family of cadherin-like cell adhesion proteins, are crucial for establishing and maintaining neuronal connections in the brain, and PCDH8 (protocadherin-8), also known as Arcadlin or PAPC, is a significant member of this family. This 1,070 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein features six cadherin domains and is specifically localized to the cell membrane, predominantly expressed in both fetal and adult brain tissues. PCDH8 plays a key role in cell adhesion events within the central nervous system, which is vital for proper neuronal function and connectivity. PCDH8 has been implicated in breast cancer, as PCDH8 is often inactivated or silenced in tumor cells, suggesting a potential tumor-suppressive function.
