SEE ALSO...

PBP Antibody (C-24) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the PBP protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP). PBP (C-24) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. The platelet basic protein (PBP) is a crucial member of the alpha-chemokine family, primarily located in the alpha-granules of platelets, where PBP plays a significant role in mediating inflammatory responses and wound healing. Upon platelet activation, PBP is released and undergoes proteolytic cleavage, resulting in several biologically active peptides, including mature PBP, connective tissue-activating peptide III (CTAP III), beta-thromboglobulin, and neutrophil-activating peptide 2 (NAP-2). NAP-2 is instrumental in activating neutrophils, promoting chemotaxis and degranulation during inflammatory processes, which underscores PBP′s importance in immune response and tissue repair. The gene encoding human PBP is located on chromosome 4q12-q13, highlighting PBP′s genetic significance in human health and disease.

Can PBP (C-24): sc-73636 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes, PBP (C-24): sc-73636 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
