PBF Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PBF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PBF antibody (E-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PBF protein, also known as pituitary tumor-transforming 1 interacting protein (PTTG1IP), is a 180 amino acid single-pass type I membrane protein that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and regulation. PBF is primarily located in both cytoplasm and nucleus, where a coiled-coil domain is essential for interaction with other proteins. This localization allows PBF to facilitate nuclear translocation of PTTG, thereby promoting PTTG-dependent transcriptional activation of fibroblast growth factor (FGF), which is vital for various cellular processes, including cell growth and differentiation. PBF gene is situated on human chromosome 21, a region associated with several genetic disorders, including Down Syndrome, which underscores studying PBF in developmental biology and disease contexts.
