Pax-6 Antibody (AD2.35) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Pax-6 in mouse, rat, human, and avian species through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Pax-6 antibody (AD2.35) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pax-6 plays a crucial role in eye development, functioning as a transcriptional regulator that binds to specific DNA sequences to control the expression of genes essential for the formation of ocular structures. Mutations in Pax-6 are linked to several congenital eye disorders, including aniridia, which is characterized by the absence of an iris and can lead to severe visual impairment. Pax-6′s paired domain structure consists of two distinct DNA-binding subdomains that allow for precise interaction with target genes, thereby influencing the developmental pathways that lead to proper eye formation. Understanding Pax-6 function and regulation is vital for elucidating the genetic basis of eye diseases and developing potential therapeutic strategies.
