PATZ1 Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PATZ1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PATZ1, also known as POZ (BTB) and AT hook containing zinc finger 1, RIAZ, ZBTB19, ZNF278, or ZSG, is a 687 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation by acting as a transcriptional repressor. Nuclear localization enables PATZ1 to interact with DNA and other nuclear proteins, thereby influencing gene expression. PATZ1 contains a unique combination of functional domains, including one A.T hook DNA-binding domain, one BTB (POZ) domain, and seven C2H2-type zinc fingers, which facilitate binding to specific DNA sequences and recruitment of histone-modifying proteins. This interaction is essential for the regulation of various genes involved in cellular processes, and dysregulation of PATZ1 has been implicated in the pathogenesis of small round cell sarcoma and human colorectal cancer. Additionally, multiple isoforms of PATZ1 due to alternative splicing events add another layer of complexity to functional repertoire, making PATZ1 a critical target for research in cancer biology and transcriptional regulation.
