PAR-4 Antibody (5F4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PAR-4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PAR-4 antibody (5F4) is available as the non-conjugated format. PAR-4, also known as Proteinase-Activated Receptor 4, plays a crucial role in regulating platelet activation and thrombus formation, making PAR-4 essential for maintaining hemostasis. As a member of the protease-activated receptor family, PAR-4 is activated by thrombin, a serine protease that cleaves the receptor, leading to a cascade of intracellular signaling events that ultimately result in increased intracellular calcium levels and platelet aggregation. This process is vital for the body′s response to vascular injury, as PAR-4 facilitates the formation of a stable blood clot to prevent excessive bleeding. Additionally, PAR-4′s interaction with other proteins, such as PAR-1 and PAR-2, highlights PAR-4′s importance in the complex network of signaling pathways involved in thrombosis and inflammation. Understanding PAR-4 function and interactions is critical for developing therapeutic strategies targeting coagulation disorders and inflammatory diseases.
