Datasheets
  • PAP-2a Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ PAP-2a antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 143-161 within an extracellular domain of PAP-2a of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of PAP-2a of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for PAP-2a Antibody (A-4) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with PAP-2a Antibody (A-4) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

    SEE ALSO...

PAP-2a Antibody (A-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PAP-2a of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PAP-2a antibody (A-4) is available as the non-conjugated form. PAP-2a, also known as phosphatidic acid phosphatase 2, is a crucial member of the integral membrane glycoprotein family that plays a significant role in lipid metabolism and signal transduction. PAP-2a is involved in the dephosphorylation of lipid phosphates, including phosphatidic acid and lysophosphatidic acid, which are important signaling molecules in various cellular processes such as cell growth, migration, and differentiation. PAP-2a functions independently of magnesium ions and shows insensitivity to N-ethylmaleimide inhibition, highlighting unique biochemical properties as a vital player in the phospholipase D signaling pathway. PAP-2a, along with isoforms PAP-2b and PAP-2c, exhibits distinct tissue distribution patterns, with PAP-2a and PAP-2b being ubiquitously expressed, while PAP-2c is predominantly found in the human brain, placenta, and pancreas. Understanding the functional dynamics of PAP-2a and interactions with other lipid phosphates is essential for elucidating roles in cellular signaling and potential implications in various diseases.
