Datasheets
  • pan CEA Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 κ, cited in 1 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • raised against amino acids 35-334 of CEA (carcinoembryonic antigen) of human origin
  • recommended for detection of a broad range of CEA (CD66 isoforms) family members and CEA related molecules of human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • m-IgG Fc BP-HRP, m-IgG1 BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for pan CEA Antibody (E-4) for WB and IHC(P) applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with pan CEA Antibody (E-4) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

pan CEA Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CEA antibody (E-4) is particularly significant due to CEA′s crucial role in cell adhesion and signaling, which are vital processes in both normal physiological functions and pathological conditions such as cancer. CEA, a member of the carcinoembryonic antigen-related cell adhesion molecule (CEACAM) family, is primarily expressed in epithelial tissues and is often upregulated in various carcinomas, making CEA a valuable tumor marker for monitoring disease progression and response to therapy. CEA′s structure, characterized by a single N domain and multiple immunoglobulin-like domains, facilitates interactions with other proteins and cells, influencing processes such as angiogenesis and immune response modulation. Understanding CEA′s structural attributes is essential for developing targeted therapies and improving diagnostic accuracy in oncology.

Can pan CEA (E-4): sc-48374 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, pan CEA (E-4): sc-48374 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
