Pan CEA Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-CEA antibody (C-4) is particularly valuable in clinical diagnostics as CEA serves as a critical tumor marker, primarily associated with various carcinomas, including colorectal cancer. CEA (C-4) monoclonal antibody recognizes proteins predominantly located on the cell surface, where CEA plays a significant role in cell adhesion and signaling, which are essential for maintaining tissue architecture and facilitating communication between cells. This localization is crucial because alterations in CEA expression can influence tumor progression and metastasis, making CEA a key focus in cancer research and therapeutic monitoring. Additionally, human CEACAM proteins, including CEA, are encoded by genes clustered on chromosome 19, and CEA expression levels can provide insights into disease states, thereby aiding in the assessment of treatment efficacy and disease prognosis.
