Palladin Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects palladin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-palladin antibody (G-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Palladin, also known as PALLD, PNCA1, or SIH002, is a 1,383 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in organizing the actin cytoskeleton, essential for maintaining cell shape, motility, and adhesion. Palladin is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and cytoskeleton, where five immunoglobulin-like domains facilitate interactions with other proteins. Palladin is expressed in various tissues, including kidney, prostate, ovary, and colon, and exists in several alternatively spliced isoforms. Palladin interacts with key proteins such as Eps8, LASP-1, and VASP, involved in cytoskeletal dynamics and actin remodeling. Palladin undergoes post-translational modifications, including phosphorylation on specific serine residues in response to DNA damage, highlighting a role in cellular stress responses. Defects in palladin have been linked to increased genetic susceptibility to pancreatic cancer, underscoring potential involvement in tumorigenesis and significance as a target for cancer research.
