PAI-2 Antibody (E-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PAI-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PAI-2 Antibody (E-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PAI-2, also known as Serpin Family B Member 2, plays a crucial role in regulating fibrinolysis and tissue remodeling by inhibiting urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), which are essential for converting plasminogen to plasmin. This regulation is vital for maintaining a balance between coagulation and fibrinolysis, thereby preventing excessive bleeding or thrombosis. PAI-2 is predominantly found in secreted and cytosolic forms, with expression being particularly important during pregnancy and in certain pathological conditions, such as cancer and inflammation. PAI-2′s ability to inhibit proteolytic activity is attributed to a unique serpin structure, which allows formation of stable complexes with target proteases, thus preventing their activity and contributing to the control of extracellular matrix degradation.
