    SEE ALSO...

PAF acetylhydrolase 2 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PAF acetylhydrolase 2 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PAF acetylhydrolase 2 antibody (B-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PAF acetylhydrolase 2, also known as PAFAH2, is a 392 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism by hydrolyzing platelet-activating factor (PAF), a potent phospholipid mediator involved in inflammation and thrombosis. PAF acetylhydrolase 2′s ability to regulate PAF levels is vital for maintaining homeostasis in immune responses and preventing excessive inflammatory reactions. PAFAH2 is predominantly expressed in B- and T-lymphocytes, highlighting its importance in immune function, while PAFAH2′s restricted expression in the amygdala and frontal cortex of the brain suggests a potential role in neuroinflammatory processes. The gene encoding PAF acetylhydrolase 2 is located on human chromosome 1p36.11, a region associated with various diseases, underscoring the significance of PAFAH2 in both health and disease contexts.
