PACS-1a Antibody (4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PACS-1a from human, mouse, and rat samples by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-PACS-1a antibody (4) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). The phosphofurin acidic cluster sorting protein-1 (PACS-1) plays a crucial role in intracellular protein trafficking, particularly in the secretory pathway. PACS-1 helps properly localize membrane proteins to the trans-Golgi network and endosomal compartments, which are vital for sorting and distributing proteins within cells. PACS-1 expresses from two distinct reading frames, producing larger PACS-1a and smaller PACS-1b isoforms. PACS-1 proteins mainly interact with endoprotease furin and mannose 6-phosphate receptor, facilitating protein trafficking to the trans-Golgi network through phosphorylation-dependent mechanisms. Such interactions ensure correct protein processing and delivery to functional destinations, maintaining cellular homeostasis and function.
