SEE ALSO...

p39 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects p39 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-p39 antibody (F-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. p39 protein plays a crucial role in regulating cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5), which is essential for proper neuronal development and function in the mammalian central nervous system. p39 (F-4) monoclonal antibody recognizes p39 protein, which interacts with Cdk5 and modulates actin cytoskeletal dynamics by localizing to lamellipodial and filopodial structures in cells, as well as growth cones of neurons. This localization suggests p39 may influence neuronal morphology and synaptic plasticity, vital for learning and memory processes. Human p39 gene is located on chromosome 2q35 and encodes a 367-amino acid protein that shares limited similarity with cyclins, indicating p39 and p35 may represent a distinct family of cyclin-dependent kinase activating proteins. During embryonic brain development in rats, p39 expression shows an inverse relationship with Cdk5 and p35, suggesting region-specific and developmental stage-specific roles in the brain. p39 temporal and spatial expression at synaptic junctions further underscores potential involvement in synaptic signaling and plasticity, making p39 a valuable target for neurobiology research.
