P23 Antibody (B-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects P23 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). P23, also known as PTGES3 (prostaglandin E synthase 3) or TEBP (telomerase-binding protein p23), is a ubiquitously expressed protein that serves as a cochaperone within the HSP 90-based molecular chaperone complex, playing a crucial role in signal transduction. P23 is primarily located in the cytoplasm, where P23 interacts with key steroid hormone receptors, including the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) and estrogen receptor alpha (ERα). P23 interaction with these receptors is vital for the regulation of transcriptional activity, as P23 facilitates the maturation of ERα and modulates GR-dependent transcription by disassembling the GR transcription machinery. P23 influence on these pathways underscores P23′s importance in cellular processes and signal transduction, particularly in hormone signaling. P23 upregulation has been linked to the invasion and metastasis of various cancers, highlighting P23′s potential as a biomarker and therapeutic target in oncology.
