P15RS Antibody (C-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects P15RS of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). P15RS (C-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. P15RS, consisting of 213 amino acids and featuring an RPR domain, plays a crucial role in cell cycle regulation by acting as a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor, specifically targeting cyclin-dependent protein kinases (Cdks). This inhibition is vital for maintaining proper cell cycle progression, particularly during the G1 phase, as P15RS prevents the activation of Cdks by the mitotic inhibitory INK4 family, of which p15 is a member. The regulation of nuclear pre-mRNA by P15RS further underscores P15RS′s importance in cellular processes, as this suggests a role in modulating gene expression during cell cycle transitions. Notably, P15RS expression is upregulated in cells that overexpress p15, indicating significant involvement in cell cycle control. The gene encoding P15RS is located on chromosome 18q12, highlighting genetic relevance in various biological contexts.
