SEE ALSO...

p-JNK Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody raised against phosphorylated human c-Jun N-terminal kinase (p-JNK), a stress-activated protein kinase crucial for cellular stress responses. p-JNK mouse monoclonal antibody (G-7) recognizes JNK when phosphorylated and demonstrates broad species cross-reactivity, detecting p-JNK in mouse, rat, and human samples through Western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) applications. Anti-p-JNK monoclonal antibody (G-7) is available in non-conjugated form and multiple conjugated forms including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatility for diverse experimental needs. The JNK family encompasses three members - JNK1, JNK2, and JNK3 - which undergo activation through a sophisticated dual phosphorylation mechanism at Thr183 and Tyr185. These specific phosphorylation events, catalyzed by JNK-activating kinases within the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascade, enable JNK to respond effectively to various cellular stressors, particularly ultraviolet light exposure. Once activated, p-JNK phosphorylates c-Jun at Ser63 and Ser73, enhancing c-Jun′s ability to regulate gene expression. This phosphorylation cascade proves essential for controlling cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis in response to stress and inflammatory signals. Through these diverse regulatory roles, p-JNK signaling significantly influences both normal cellular functions and the development of various pathological conditions, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. p-JNK (G-7) antibody serves as a valuable tool for investigating these complex signaling pathways and their implications in disease mechanisms.

Hello, can i use this Antibody to detect phosphorylation in primary human fibroblasts?

Asked by: Alexander M
Thank you for your question. p-JNK Antibody (G-7): sc-6254 detects Thr 183 and Tyr 185 phosphorylated JNK1, JNK2 and JNK3 of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA. It is only specific against these phosphorylated residues and does not detect JNK that does not possess these phosphorylations.

Hi. Hope you are well. I am planning to use p-JNK antibody in western blotting in mice brain areas of hippocampus, cortex and nucleus accumbens. Is this product suitable for it as I cannot tell from the references. Thanks

Asked by: Lalji
Thank you for your question. Yes, this antibody is recommended for Western blotting in samples of mouse origin and is specific for phosphorylated JNK. There are product citations specifically in mouse brain. Please contact our Technical Service Department if you would like us to provide specific product citations as a reference.

How can this mouse monoclonal antibody be used for double or triple staining, if the other primary antibodies are also raised in mouse?

Asked by: Cweed
In this case, we recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. SC-6254 is currently available conjugated to AF488, AF647, and FITC.
