    SEE ALSO...

p-eEF2K Antibody (H-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Ser 366 phosphorylated eEF2K in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-eEF2K (H-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The eukaryotic elongation-factor-2 kinase (eEF2K) plays a crucial role in regulating protein synthesis by phosphorylating and inactivating eEF2, thereby modulating the rate of polypeptide chain elongation during translation. This regulation is particularly important in response to cellular stress and growth signals, as eEF2K activity is tightly controlled by calcium and calmodulin, with autophosphorylation occurring on serine and threonine residues. Notably, eEF2K is phosphorylated at Ser 366 by p70 S6 kinase, which leads to inactivation, especially under low calcium conditions, highlighting eEF2K′s role in cellular adaptation to nutrient availability and stress. The phosphorylation of eEF2K at Ser 359, which is closely located to Ser 366, is also influenced by insulin-like growth factor-1, further illustrating the intricate regulatory mechanisms governing eEF2K activity and significance in cellular physiology.
