Datasheets
  • p-CPS2 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ, cited in 3 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids Thr 456 Thr 456 of CPS2 of human origin
  • recommended for detection of Thr 456 phosphorylated CPS2 of mouse, rat, human and origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and canine, bovine and avian
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for p-CPS2 Antibody (F-4) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with p-CPS2 Antibody (F-4) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

SEE ALSO...

p-CPS2 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa light chain antibody that detects Thr 456 phosphorylated CPS2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). p-CPS2 (F-4) antibody is available in a non-conjugated form, providing flexibility for various experimental needs. CPS2 is a crucial component of the multicomplex enzyme carbamoyl-phosphate synthetase-aspartate carbamoyl transferase-dihydro-orotase (CAD), which plays a vital role in pyrimidine biosynthesis by catalyzing the second and third steps of this pathway. Phosphorylation of CPS2 by cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase enhances activity, facilitating the rate-limiting step in pyrimidine synthesis. This regulation is particularly important as pyrimidines are essential for DNA and RNA synthesis, impacting cell proliferation and metabolism. CAD is predominantly expressed in brain and skeletal muscle tissues, highlighting significance in cellular functions within these organs. A related enzyme, carbamoyl phosphate synthetase 1 (CPS1), is found in the liver and is involved in the urea cycle, underscoring the interconnectedness of metabolic pathways and CPS2′s importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very potent and specific antibody for Western blotThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and is highy recommended for Western blotting. There was very strong detection of ~215 kDa CPS2 in overnight serum-starved human A431 cells treated for 5 minutes with EGF on Western blots, and no significant cross-reactivities on these blots with any off-target proteins, except for a ~75 kDa protein.
