p-Akt1/2/3 Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects the phosphorylated form of the Akt1, Akt2, and Akt3 proteins, specifically targeting a sequence containing phosphorylated Thr 308 of Akt2 in mouse, rat, and human samples. The Akt family, also known as protein kinase B isoforms, plays a central role in cellular processes such as metabolism, cell survival, and growth regulation. Upon phosphorylation at Thr 308 and Ser 473, p-Akt isoforms become fully activated and translocate to the plasma membrane, enabling their interaction with key signaling proteins like phosphoinositide-dependent kinase-1 (PDK1), mammalian target of rapamycin complex 2 (mTORC2), and glycogen synthase kinase-3 beta (GSK-3β). These interactions regulate critical pathways involved in glucose metabolism, protein synthesis, and apoptosis. Akt2, which is predominantly associated with insulin signaling, also interacts with AS160 and FOXO transcription factors to control glucose uptake and storage. Dysregulated p-Akt signaling contributes to pathological conditions, including cancer, metabolic disorders, and insulin resistance. Anti-p-Akt1/2/3 antibody (A-12) is recommended for use in western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), enabling researchers to study activation dynamics and interaction networks of p-Akt1/2/3. This makes p-Akt1/2/3 (A-12) antibody a valuable tool for understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying Akt-mediated signaling pathways in both normal and diseased states.
