OXA1L Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects OXA1L protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OXA1L (A-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. OXA1L protein, also known as oxidase (cytochrome c) assembly 1-like, is a crucial 435 amino acid mitochondrial inner membrane protein that belongs to the highly conserved Oxa1/Alb3/YidC protein family, which plays a vital role in the biogenesis of membrane proteins across mitochondria, chloroplasts, and bacteria. OXA1L is essential for the proper insertion of integral membrane proteins into the mitochondrial inner membrane, which is critical for the assembly and activity of cytochrome oxidase, as well as the correct biogenesis of F(1)F(0)-ATP synthase and NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase. Notably, mutations in the gene encoding OXA1L have been implicated in the pathology of combined enzymatic deficiencies of the oxidative phosphorylation system, highlighting the importance of this protein in cellular energy metabolism and overall mitochondrial function.
