    SEE ALSO...

Oviductin Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects Oviductin in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Oviductin, also known as Mucin 9, plays a crucial role in the reproductive process by binding to the zona pellucida of oocytes, which is essential for fertilization and subsequent early embryonic development. Oviductin is specifically localized to secretory granules within the oviduct, highlighting its importance in the reproductive tract. Notably, Oviductin expression peaks during ovulation, indicating a potential role in facilitating the transport and nourishment of oocytes during this critical period. The highly glycosylated nature of Oviductin, characterized by variable number of tandem repeats, contributes to functional diversity and interaction with other proteins, making Oviductin a significant focus of study in reproductive biology. Anti-Oviductin antibody (G-7) is an invaluable tool for researchers investigating the mechanisms of fertilization and early embryonic development in humans.

Oviductin, or OVGP1is known to be specifically expressed by the secretory cells of the oviductal epithelium and not expressed in normal ovarian tissue or ovarian oocytes. What ovarian tissue have you used for detect oviductin expression?

    Asked by: SallyZh
Thank you for your question. At the time this testing was performed, Source said that >75% of OVGP1 expression happened in ovary. A current review on HPA shows no expression in ovary. We will have our lab review this IHC(P) data. In the meantime, please consider this alternative, Oviductin Antibody (H-8): sc-377267, which has more recent data in formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded human fallopian tube.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376300 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
