SEE ALSO...

Oval Cell Marker (OV-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Oval Cell Marker protein in mouse, rat, and human samples by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Oval Cell Marker antibody (OV-6) is available non-conjugated and conjugated to agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® dyes. Stem cells exist in nearly all multi-cellular organisms, characterized by their ability to self-renew and differentiate into multiple cell types. Adult stem cells maintain tissue repair and organ maintenance, while embryonic stem cells found in blastocysts can form any embryonic tissue. Stem cells′ unique ability to mature into any cell type makes these cells valuable for treating human diseases, including cancer, muscle damage, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson′s disease, Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and organ regeneration. Oval Cells are hepatic stem cells that differentiate into multiple cell types and play roles in liver development and chronic liver disease pathogenesis. Oval Cell Marker (OV-6) enables detection of Oval Cells within samples.

I'm getting unspecificity from this in mouse liver samples. I have tried diluting it more, different antigen retrievals and longer blocking times. Had a sample of this before which worked fine. Anyone know how to troubleshoot this?

Heloo. Please, write me what material can be used as a positive control of the product Oval Cell Marker Antibody (OV-6): sc-101863. Thanks.

Asked by: Nino
Thank you for your question. Liver tissues and cells (hepatic samples) are considered the best positive controls. This antibody is specific for bile ducts, oval cells, some nodular hepatocytes and hepatomas.

Which antigen retrieval technique is needed for IHC-P ? thanks

Asked by: SophiePaquet
This antibody has not yet been tested on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, or for IHC(P). This antibody is recommended and warrantied for IF (immunofluorescent staining of fresh or frozen tissues or cells fixed in methanol or acetone), however we are still gathering data to show on our website. Check back for updates!

What negative control should be used when using the PE conjugated version of this antibody (sc-101863 PE) in flow cytometry?

Asked by: TinTin
Great question! We recommend using the isotype specific normal mouse IgG conjugated to the same fluorophore. So if you are using sc-101863 PE, then you would want to use normal mouse IgG1 PE, sc-2866.
