  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 53-87 within an internal region of osteocalcin of human origin
  • recommended for detection of osteocalcin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF, IHC(P) and ELISA
  • available conjugated to agarose for IP; HRP for WB, IHC(P) and ELISA; phycoerythrin, FITC, Alexa Fluor® 488 or Alexa Fluor® 647 for IF, IHC(P) and FCM
  • m-IgG3 BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for osteocalcin Antibody (G-5) for WB and IHC(P) applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with osteocalcin Antibody (G-5) (see ordering information below).

SEE ALSO...

Osteocalcin Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects osteocalcin of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-osteocalcin antibody (G-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Osteocalcin, also known as BGLAP, BGP, or bone Gla protein, plays a crucial role in bone metabolism and is primarily produced by osteoblasts. Osteocalcin binds to hydroxyapatite in a calcium-dependent manner, facilitating mineral deposition in the bone matrix. Osteocalcin expression in bone is particularly important during embryonic stage mineral deposition and remains one of the most abundant non-collagenous proteins in adult mineralized bone. Genetic variations at the osteocalcin locus on chromosome 1q have been linked to variations in postmenopausal bone mineral density, highlighting osteocalcin′s significance in osteoporosis susceptibility. Osteocalcin monoclonal antibody (G-5) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying bone biology and related disorders.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work in our hands for ICC / IHC mouseWe tried both mouse ffpe sections and fixed cells, and this antibody (we used conjunction 488) did not show any signal above noise in either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from clear signal in dot blotsculture supernatants could be well screened for the secretion of osteocalcin - little background signal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not very wellOnly with overnight incubation and a strong antigen retrival (EDTA pH8.0 in wather bath for 40') I can see a signal, but I think is mostly non specific because stain all cells

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good antibody for ICC applicationI use this to stain the osteocalcin in differentiated bone marrow derived stem cell from human, and it works good with little background noise. I recommend this product

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so goodI bought this a month ago and I tried this last week for ICC. Did not get specific signals. It was supposed to localize in the proximity of nucleus but it was observed elsewhere. Disappointed with the purchase.
