SEE ALSO...

Osteocalcin Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects osteocalcin, osteocalcin-2, and osteocalcin-related protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-osteocalcin antibody (E-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Osteocalcin, also known as bone γ-carboxyglutamic acid (Gla) protein, BGLAP, or BGP, is a crucial non-collagenous protein component of bone synthesized by osteoblasts. Osteocalcin binds to hydroxyapatite in a calcium-dependent manner, facilitating mineralization during bone formation. In mice, osteocalcin is encoded by a cluster of three genes—OG1, OG2, and ORG—located within a 23Kb span of genomic DNA, highlighting evolutionary conservation. The human form of osteocalcin consists of 46-50 amino acids and features three vitamin K-dependent γ-carboxyglutamic acid residues, which are essential for function. Genetic variations at the osteocalcin locus on chromosome 1q have been associated with postmenopausal bone mineral density levels, indicating potential role in osteoporosis predisposition. Osteocalcin monoclonal antibody (E-6) in multiple formats serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying bone biology and related disorders.

In the data sheet, it is indicated as 6 kDa, But in the analyzed data (figure) between 30 ~40 kDa and 20 ~30 kDa Why is there such a difference? what does 'Osteocalcin fusion protein' mean ?

Asked by: soyoung
Thank you for your question. The blot image shows mouse recombinant osteocalcin fusion protein, which contains the antibody's target sequence and tags. Western blots with endogenous protein will show bands at the height indicated in the datasheet.

Can the blocking peptide be used as a positive control in Western Blot?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide sc-376835 P is a short synthetic peptide intended for use as a negative control. It is not appropriate for use as a positive control in Western Blot.
