OST48 Antibody (H-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects OST48 in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OST48 is a crucial component of the mammalian oligosaccharyltransferase (OST) complex, which plays a vital role in the cotranslational N-glycosylation of newly synthesized polypeptides. This process is essential for proper protein folding, stability, and function, as glycosylation can influence protein interactions, localization, and activity. The OST complex is composed of four type I transmembrane proteins, including ribophorins I and II, DAD1, and OST48, which are localized exclusively to the rough endoplasmic reticulum. The interaction between the cytoplasmic N-terminal region of DAD1 and the short cytoplasmic tail of OST48 is critical for the assembly and function of the OST complex, highlighting OST48′s importance in maintaining the integrity of the glycosylation process. Anti-OST48 antibody (H-1) enables researchers to effectively study the dynamics of glycosylation and its implications in various biological processes and diseases.
