SEE ALSO...

OSCP Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects OSCP protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OSCP (A-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The oligomycin-sensitivity conferring protein (OSCP), also known as ATP5O, is a crucial component of ATP synthase, which is located in the mitochondria and plays a vital role in ATP synthesis. OSCP is essential for cellular energy production, as mitochondrial ATP synthases convert the energy from membrane electrochemical proton gradients into the high-energy phosphate bonds necessary for ATP generation. The structure of ATP synthase is composed of two linked complexes: F1, which serves as the hydrophilic catalytic core, and F0, which forms the membrane-embedded protein channel. The F1 complex consists of three alpha chains and three beta chains, along with one gamma chain, one delta chain, and one epsilon chain, while the F0 complex is made up of three subunits: a, b, and c. The epsilon chain of F1, comprising just 50 amino acids, is the smallest of the five chains in the ATPase F1 complex, highlighting the intricate design and functionality of OSCP in energy metabolism.
