OSBP2 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects OSBP2 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). OSBP2 (B-1) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The Oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, which includes OSBP1 and OSBP2, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and signal transduction, as well as vesicle transport. OSBP2 (B-1) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein that is primarily localized in the testis, retina, and fetal liver, highlighting OSBP2′s significance in reproductive and developmental processes. Notably, OSBP2 interacts with 25-hydroxy-cholesterol (25-HC), a key regulator that suppresses the transcription of genes involved in cholesterol synthesis, such as HMG-CoA reductase and the low-density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR). By binding to 25-HC, OSBP2 modulates the extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway, thereby influencing various cellular responses. OSBP2′s ability to translocate to the periphery of Golgi membranes upon oxysterol binding further underscores OSBP2′s dynamic role in cellular lipid transport and signaling.

Can OSBP2 (B-1): sc-365922 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. Yes, OSBP2 (B-1): sc-365922 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
