    SEE ALSO...

OS4 Antibody (2230C1a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects OS4 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-OS4 antibody (2230C1a) is available as a non-conjugated format. OS4 protein, also known as CTDSP2 (Carboxy-terminal domain RNA polymerase II polypeptide A small phosphatase 2) or SCP2, is a 271 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of androgen-dependent transcription, particularly by silencing neuronal genes on a global scale. OS4 is expressed ubiquitously, with notably high levels found in the pancreas, highlighting its importance in various biological processes. OS4 contains a unique FCP1 homology domain and functions as a Smad2/3 linker phosphatase, enhancing Smad2/3 signaling, which is critical in the Smad pathway associated with cellular responses to transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β). OS4′s interaction with Smad2/3 is essential for the final signaling events in this pathway, making OS4 a key player in the metastasis of certain cancers. Notably, overexpression of OS4 has been linked to the development of primary sarcomas and brain tumors, underscoring its potential as a biomarker for cancer progression and a target for therapeutic intervention.
