ORP150 Antibody (A-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ORP150 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ORP150 Antibody (A-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ORP150, also known as HYOU1 (hypoxia upregulated 1), is a 999 amino acid protein that resides in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and belongs to the heat shock protein 70 (HSP 70) family. ORP150 localization within the ER is critical, as ORP150 plays a vital role in protein folding and secretion, particularly under conditions of stress such as hypoxia. By assisting in proper folding of nascent proteins and preventing aggregation, ORP150 helps maintain cellular homeostasis and protects cells from hypoxia-induced apoptosis, which is essential for cell survival in adverse conditions. ORP150 expression is significantly upregulated in various tumors, including breast cancer, indicating potential involvement in tumorigenesis and suggesting ORP150 may serve as a biomarker for cancer progression. The gene encoding ORP150 features two translation initiation sites, leading to a truncated transcript that lacks an ER signal peptide, yet functions as a housekeeping protein in the cytoplasm, further underscoring ORP150′s importance in cellular function and stress response.
