SEE ALSO...

ORP-9 Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ORP-9 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ORP-9 Antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ORP-9, a member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and signal transduction, as well as vesicle transport, by acting as an intracellular lipid receptor. ORP-9 is involved in the translocation to the periphery of Golgi membranes upon binding to oxysterols, which is essential for maintaining cellular lipid homeostasis and facilitating communication between organelles. ORP-9 exhibits a highly conserved OSBP-type sterol-binding region and a pleckstrin homology domain, allowing strong binding to phosphatidic acid and weak binding to phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate. ORP-9 is widely expressed and produced in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, highlighting its functional diversity and importance in various cellular processes.
