    SEE ALSO...

ORP-7 Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ORP-7 protein of human origin and Osbpl7 of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ORP-7 (E-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ORP-7, also known as OSBPL7, is a crucial member of the oxysterol-binding protein (OSBP) family, which plays a significant role in lipid metabolism and cellular signaling. ORP-7 is primarily located in the cytoplasm and translocates to the periphery of Golgi membranes upon binding to oxysterols, highlighting ORP-7′s importance in lipid transport and cellular communication. A C-terminal sterol-binding domain and an N-terminal pleckstrin homology domain in ORP-7 facilitates interaction with various lipids, including phosphatidic acid and phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate, which are vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and signaling pathways. Encoded by a gene on human chromosome 17, ORP-7 consists of 842 amino acids and is part of a larger family of OSBP-related proteins that are essential for regulating lipid dynamics within cells.

What blocking solution should I use with ORP-7 (E-2): sc-515540 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
